Insurance Company says if you are riding in a car, you are negligent.
I just had State Farm Insurance Company deny the claim of a young, African-American female who was injured in a car wreck when the other car made a left hand turn into her at an intersection. She sustained bruising, back and neck sprains, and facial scarring. The claim was denied because, according to the insurance company, she was negligent and contributed to her own injury. The kicker? She was a passenger. Apparently she was unsafely sitting in the front seat of a car. I’m going to tell this story every time a lawyer is blamed for “clogging up the court system” and “making up claims.”
