2017 High School Mock Trial

2017 High School Mock Trial

On Saturday, February 5, Bradley Coxe and Sam Potter, partners with Hodges Coxe Potter & Phillips, LLP, volunteered as judges at the regional High School Mock Trial Competition in Wilmington NC. The case tried by the ten high school teams participating involved allegations of excessive force by a police officer assigned to a high school, who pepper sprayed an autistic student who had brought a 3D model of a handgun to school. The competition is a great way for high school students to learn about a career in litigation and become more comfortable in all public speaking situations.

The High School Mock Trial Competition is sponsored by the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the Carolina Center for Civic Education. For more information, check out  NC High School Mock Trial website.
